How do I write a welcome message?
Writing a welcome message with Air Landline couldn’t be easier. If you’re recording your own then you simply need to upload the audio file into your control panel in the customer area of Air Landline.
If you’re writing a text-to-AI message, this can be done quickly and easily by using our AI voice generator partner, who will then provide you with an audio file that you can easily download and use within your Air Landline audio settings.
If you want to hire a voiceover artist, this can be done via our partners and they will then provide you with the relevant audio file for use with your welcome message.
What is a good welcome message?
This will depend on your business, your style and your customers.
However, a general rule of thumb is to welcome the customer to “Your Business Name”, thank the customer for calling and explain you’ll be with them as soon as possible.

When operating a business number, there are a few different types of welcome messages you’ll likely need to record in order to give your customers the best possible experience and provide the most professional service.
Welcome Greeting
A standard greeting that lets the customer know their call has been connected and that you’ll be with them as soon as you can.
This can either be one you recorded yourself, a voice actor or a text to AI greeting.
Voicemail greeting
If a customer calls your business number and isn’t able to get through, then the call will ring through to the Voicemail so that the customer can record a message for you to get back to them.
A voicemail greeting is a pre-recorded message letting the customer know they’ve reached the voicemail and to record a message.
After hours greeting
With Air Landline, you can set hours of operation, and if a customer calls outside of your working hours, they’ll hear a pre-recorded message letting them know they’re calling out of hours.
Phone system greeting
With Air Landline, you can get a virtual IVR or virtual switchboard for just £4.99 per month plus VAT.
A virtual IVR is a phone menu that allows customers to choose which department they want.
For example, press 1 for Sales. A phone system greeting is a welcome message that introduces the customer to this system.
